We have two different areas of Customer Service: Consumables and First and Last Impressions. Through the interviewing process we will decide which department we feel is the best fit for you, while taking your preference into consideration.

Below is a brief description of each department.

The Consumables team will:

  • Prepare and serve scrumptious food (sometimes in fast-paced setting)
  • Engage and assist customers with their food and beverage needs
  • Assist visitors with concerns while visiting the Park
  • Maintain Park Grounds by picking up trash, cleaning, etc.

The First and Last Impressions team will:

  • Welcome guests to the Park and set the tone for their visit
  • Ensure guests enjoyed their visit prior to leaving
  • Handle guests' questions in-person and on the phone
  • Assist with office duties
  • Keep the gift shop stocked and in order
  • Have a good understanding of all the services offered by Tanganyika

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation for this position is hourly. The starting rate is $7.25

Location & Directions

Tanganyika Wildlife Park is located on the West edge of Wichita at:
1000 S. Hawkins Ln. in Goddard, KS.

GPS Update:
Google Maps and Apple Maps are both routing people to our service entrance off 183rd St W. If you use one of these apps for directions, make sure you go North to Maple St and then head West to Hawkins Ln. The true Park entrance is at the end of that road.

Food & Dining

The Pavilion Deli

The Pavilion Deli offers full meal combos with sandwiches, chips and drinks, kids meals, sides and snacks. For dessert Tanganyika has a full selection of ice cream novelties. The beverage selection includes a full range of bottled drinks, juices, fountain drinks, souvenir cups, Icees and beer.

Kang Brew Café

Kang Brew Café provides smoothies, Tanganyika Twisters and coffee-based drinks like the Giraffe-a-Latte and Okapi-ccino to keep you energized. Also find hot beverages like hot chocolate and coffee from Wichita-based Reverie Coffee Roasters.

Bring Your Own!

If you don't want to try one of our delicious dining options, you are welcome to bring in your own food and beverages except for glass containers and alcohol.
